IIN, Indiana University Research & Technology Corporation (IURTC) and Baker & Daniels LLP are hosting a "25th Anniversary Celebration of the Bayh-Dole Act". The Act which was enacted in 1980 created a uniform patent policy among the many federal agencies that fund research, enabling small businesses and non-profit organizations, including universities, to retain title to inventions made under federally-funded research programs. This legislation was co-sponsored by former Senators Birch Bayh of Indiana and Robert Dole of Kansas.
Baker and Daniels is a sponsor and Jerome McCluskey is the Chair of the Indiana Innovation Network* (IIN).
Plan to join the celebration as Indiana University President, Adam Herbert will give a welcome address followed by a keynote speech by the Honorable Birch Bayh. A panel discussion will conclude the program and focus on the current state of university technology transfer in Indiana and beyond.
